Half Term Break October 2006

Haydn & Kayley in front of Port Lympne Mansion on our day out to the Wildlife park.
Haydn last went there with Nan & Grandad Burgess, Karen & I about 11 years ago. I can remember pushing him in the buggy up and down all the hills and along the gravel paths. Not only that but so he could see things we all had to take turns in lifting him up high enough to see into enclosures. Oh what fun we had when the kids were young.......Not.

Up close and personal with a Giraffe, they wouldn't let the truck get through the gates, annoyed the driver but made us all smile.

Good weather good fun and Man Vs Animal

Have been busy on Ebay recently, bought a hotfoil machine last year and now it seems Personalised pencils is my way forward. Check out my Ebay site

Forest of Dean, August 2006

  • A weeks camping in the forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. We walked, Cycled and Canoed on the River Wye at Symonds Yat. Travelled into Wales through Brecon and had a brilliant time.

Haydn & Kayley half way through the 12 mile paddle on the river Wye to Symonds Yat

Half way through the 10 mile cycle ride within the forest of Dean

It rained most nights, even thunder & lightning, but dry during the days. Kim does the leap of faith , climbs the ladder up the tree, then the staples on the tree to the platform, then leaps for the trapeze. New Under pants please .

Half Term Trip to LONDON

Kayley standing in front of the Albert Memorial, Hyde Park London, February 2006.

What she didn't know was that there was a damned long walk ahead of her.

Tubes, walks, queues and trains were the order for the day.

Still beat sitting in front of the TV or Computer for them.

My motley crew resting in front of the Albert Hall before the trek to Hyde Park corner.

Reminder for myself, dont ever take a trip to London with the family in half-term week ever again. The queues to every attraction were beyond belief.

But to those who see this blog, do buy a family rail card, the discounts are amazing.

Then off to the London Dungeon for us all, so here's the proof..........

Sunsets on the Police car at Minster Posted by Picasa
This picture was taken a couple of years ago at the end of Marsh Farm Road, Minster, Ramsgate, Kent. It looks out over fields towards the river stour, the field in the foreground was flooded at the time which gives the reflection of the sky.

Christmas 2005 including the snow

So heres a few pictures of Christmas morning 2005.

Haydn & Kayley pictured here opening prezzies on Christmas morning.

Both in the snow just after Christmas, only a smattering of snow but they managed to make a small snowman.

Our Neighbour Brian bought his, it's full of air and don't he look so proud of his purchase.

Pictures of our Half Term Break to Cornwall 2005

Haydn smiles for the camera with the sea lashing the coast at Lands End. What a great place, the views are tremendous. It was a bit wet and blowy though. It looks as though he enjoyed it still.

Karen looks out to sea at Tintagel Castle, windswept was an understatement for this day out.
The steps up to and around the castle remains completely knackers you. The walk back up the hill to the village seemed to take even more from your calf muscles.

I stand there trying to pose with The Eden Project Spheres in the background. Yes I did go, the educational value for the kids was great. They saw where sugar, bananas and Citrus fruit come from. (not in cling film or bags from Tesco). The smells and the sights in this place capturs you. I thought I knew a fair bit but I will say I learnt a lot too from this attraction.

Kayley doesn't even try to pose she just looks lovely leaning on the bamboo with Eden project in the background.

Lovely isn't she!

Our first page

Welcome to the first ever page from The Burgess Family blog page. We are here in Herne Bay on the North Kent coast in the United Kingdom.
Pictured here are Karen (mum) Haydn 12 and Kayley 8. Me, well I am behind the camera as usual but I suppose I had better put one of me too.

Group picture taken at Islands of Avdenture in Florida.

Well me, I'm at Alton Towers in the cable car.
